QRI-5
1. QRI-5 is a formal inventory of material that can be sued to assess students in word identification and comprehension. It is divided according to great level to accurately assess students.
2. Using QRI-5 is important when assessing students in reading and English as a whole. The purpose of this thorough assessment is to help students reach the appropriate level they are supposed to be on. This may mean that students need intervention in order to help them reach the proper grade level.
3. I have never seen anything that was as formal as QRI-5. However, when I taught 5th grade I saw P3 teachers assessing students with different passages and word lists having students read, answer questions and spell the words.
4. I think that QRI-5 is a very effective tool to use when assessing students. It covers many areas and is specific to the grade level which makes it organized and accurate. Students that need extra help can easily be identified through QRI-5 and therefore I would announce myself a fan!
