Week 3 Assignment 2
There were great lesson ideas that satisfied a lot of CC Standards as well as students' needs. In the first lesson students can easily be assessed by their review on their recording. I would give out an organized checklist with area to write notes which will include the different components that are important for an effective group discussion. The students will also have room to explain themselves and add further suggestions in the notes area.
In the second lesson where students need to persuade their peers to follow their idea a clear assessment should be taken based on the class response to the presentation. This method requires a keen eye since not only does the presentation have to be watched but also the class's response to the presenter.
In the third lesson students have to continue the story of another students. It is hard to do an individual assessment since the students will have each of their own touch added in to one big whole. I think that this point actually makes the assignment that much greater and enjoyable. As far as assessment, I would engage in conversation and ask students different questions about their writing. This will help me with their comprehension as well as give me a clear idea of their personal creativity which was added to their writing.

You gave such great assessment ideas! They were each so creative and fitting for the specific lesson. I especially like how you suggested that for the last lesson you would engage the students in a conversation, however it's important to remember that there are always students who are too shy, or not confidant enough to speak up, so it's important that you make sure to involve them in the conversation also. A good idea is to direct a question at specific student's who haven't shared their thoughts or opinion in the class discussion.
